I am excited to begin this journey with my new blog. This is my 26th year as an elementary teacher and specifically my 14th year as a Curriculum Facilitator. My focus the last fourteen years has been to help teachers so they can better help their students. I have learned so much along the way and I want to share this knowledge and connect with all of you through this blog. My hope is that I can share what I have learned and that I can learn from you.
The name of my blog, A Spot of Curriculum, was actually inspired by the Dollar Spot in my favorite store Target. Although shopping in Target is not what I was going for with the name. The spot I envision is somewhere cozy and comfortable. It is somewhere that is a place to relax and share ideas. There might be a cup of coffee or tea in it for me as I sit down to rest and reflect. I might offer my readers a spot of tea (or coffee) and perhaps something sweet. Can you picture the “spot” that I see? Goodness knows we all have enough stress in our lives, so I hope you will visit this corner of the internet often to learn, laugh, and connect with other teachers. I hope it helps you feel more energized after a long day (or week) of teaching.
I want to end by sharing the best part of my life which is my husband “G” and our five children. We are incredibly blessed, and while life is not always easy, it is always an adventure surrounded by those that I love. Many blessings to all of you!
